Une production d’un (1) million de plants d’oliviers est prévue, en 2022 au niveau de la pépinière de Cosider Agrico, filiale du Groupe Cosider, localisée à M’sif au sud de la wilaya de M’sila, selon les services de la wilaya.
La production d’un million de plants d’oliviers s’étendra sur quatre (4) phases de l’année, ont précisé les services de la wilaya, expliquant que deux (2) variétés de plants d’oliviers sont produites dans cette pépinière, en l’occurrence Empletre et Arbiquina, des variétés demandées sur le marché national et qui donnent une importante production d’olives et d’huile d’olive.
La production d’un million de plants d’oliviers devrait contribuer, selon la même source, à baisser les prix du plant d’olivier à moins de 200 dinars, alors qu’il était à 320 dinars au début de l’année 2019, date de la mise en exploitation de la pépinière de Cosider Agrico qui a varié la production des espèces de plants d’oliviers, ont indiqué les services de la wilaya.
Afin d’assurer la continuité des activités de cette pépinière, des opérations d’accompagnement seront nécessairement initiées, selon les services de la direction locale des services agricoles, qui vise l’introduction de ces plants dans les projets des périmètres d’arbres fruitiers devant être créés dans le futur au niveau du barrage vert, et ce, parallèlement aux opérations de vulgarisation agricole sur l’utilisation des plants produits par Cosider Agrico.
La consommation de la wilaya de M’sila en termes de plants d’oliviers avait dépassé, durant la période 2010-2014, plus de 350.000 plants par an, engendrant durant cette période une hausse des prix des plants d’oliviers évaluée à plus de 320 dinars/unité, a-t-on rappelé.
