L’Algérienne des viandes rouges (ALVIAR) a mis un dispositif spécial pour le mois de Ramadhan, comprenant 150 points de vente répartis sur l’ensemble du territoire national où le prix du kilogramme ne devrait pas dépasser 1.300 Da pour la viande ovine et 1.200 Da pour la viande bovine, a indiqué ce lundi à Alger son Président-Directeur général, Lamine Derradji.
A l’approche du mois sacré, « Alviar a déjà commencé à installer des points de vente dans les grandes villes comme Alger, Annaba et Oran », a déclaré Derradji à la chaîne III de la Radio Algérienne, précisant que l’objectif était « d’installer 150 points de vente répartis sur plusieurs wilayas avec des prix étudiés, qui ne dépasseraient pas 1.300 Da pour la viande ovine et 1.200 Da pour la viande bovine ».
Il a fait savoir aussi que l’Alviar a importé « 4.000 bovins dédiés à l’abattage spécialement pour le mois de Ramadhan ».
Concernant la préservation des races ovines locales comme celles de Ras-El-Hamra et de Ouled Djellal, Derradji a tiré la sonnette d’alarme du risque d' »extinction » de ces races de « haute valeur » suite, principalement, à « la cherté et le manque de l’aliment de bétail » d’une part, et « l’absence de pâturage causé par l’absence de pluie au cours de ces deux dernières années », d’autre part, a-t-il argué.
Selon lui, le cheptel ovin ne comprend actuellement que « quelques milliers » de têtes de ces deux races, qu’il a qualifiées de »patrimoine à conserver » pour éviter, entre autres, d’aller vers l’importation de la viande ovine, tout en déplorant la vente dans les boucheries de la viande du « capital reproducteur », en l’occurrence la brebis.

Derradji a évoqué des centres de reproduction mis en place au niveau de l’Alviar pour repeupler ces deux races ovines, et un programme du ministère de tutelle destiné à leur conservation, sans fournir davantage de détails.
Il a annoncé, dans le même contexte, la signature dans « les jours à venir » d’un contrat entre Alviar et un « groupe algérien » pour le lancement d’un projet de ferme pilote de production de brebis reproductrices à Bougtoub dans la wilaya d’El-Bayadh, s’étalant sur « quelque 10.000 hectares et qui vise plus de 40.000 têtes de brebis reproductrices », a-t-il expliqué.
Par ailleurs, l’invité de la Radio nationale a indiqué que « la filiale des viandes rouges en Algérie représente près de 17% du poids de l’économie agricole, et génère un flux de production estimé à 600 milliards de dinars, avec un taux de croissance moyen de 4,18% », rappelant que le cheptel national ovin est « évalué à 31 millions de têtes, dont 19 millions de brebis reproductrices ».
Il a ajouté que « le volume de la production nationale annuelle des viandes rouges est de 580 milles tonnes », relevant que « le taux d’importation du bovin frais et congelé a enregistré une baisse de plus de 87% durant la période 2016-2021 ».
Le P-Dg de l’Alviar a fait savoir aussi que le nombre d’éleveurs s’élevait à « plus de 25.000 éleveurs à travers le territoire national, dont des éleveurs saisonniers qui ne font de l’élevage qu’à l’approche de l’Aid El-Adha ou le mois de Ramadhan, notamment ».
