Le ministre saoudien des Finances, Muhammad Al-Jadaan, a déclaré que son pays cherchait à lever environ 55 milliards de dollars au cours des quatre prochaines années, grâce au programme de privatisation pour augmenter les recettes publiques et réduire son déficit budgétaire.
Selon le journal Financial Times, paru ce lundi, Al-Jadaan espère lever plus de 38 milliards de dollars grâce à la vente d’actifs, et 16,5 milliards de dollars grâce à des partenariats public-privé. Le gouvernement saoudien cherche à privatiser 160 projets dans 16 secteurs, y compris les ventes d’actifs et les partenariats public-privé jusqu’en 2025, à condition que les ventes d’actifs comprennent des hôtels appartenant au gouvernement, des tours de télédiffusion et des usines de refroidissement et de dessalement d’eau.
