La forte demande de produits agricoles et de matières premières cette année a contribué à l’augmentation des importations chinoises en provenance d’Afrique au cours des sept premiers mois de cette année, de 46,3 pour cent par rapport à la même période l’an dernier, pour atteindre 59,3 milliards de dollars, tandis que les exportations chinoises vers le continent africain a augmenté au cours de la même période de 40,5% à 139,1 milliards de dollars, a déclaré vendredi le vice-ministre chinois du Commerce Qian Keming, cité par l’agence chinoise Xinhua.
Keming a attribué l’augmentation des importations en provenance d’Afrique au cours de cette période au doublement des importations de caoutchouc, de coton, de café et d’autres produits agricoles, par rapport à la même période l’année dernière.
Le vice-ministre chinois a déclaré que les investissements directs de la Chine en Afrique ont atteint 2,07 milliards de dollars américains au cours des sept premiers mois, dépassant le niveau d’avant la pandémie au cours de la même période en 2019.
Il a noté que les entreprises chinoises et africaines ont renforcé la coopération dans l’industrie et les chaînes d’approvisionnement, construit des grappes industrielles dans la fabrication, l’agriculture, la médecine et la santé, et exploré des secteurs émergents tels que l’énergie propre, l’économie numérique et la 5G.
Les économistes estiment que la Chine augmente le volume de ses investissements en Afrique, et augmente les prêts officiels et semi-officiels aux pays pauvres, dans le but de dessiner une nouvelle carte géopolitique et d’attirer les pays du continent, afin d’améliorer son influence, en élargissant le champ des investissements et en diversifiant la base commerciale de la deuxième économie mondiale et favorise le développement de son influence politique, notamment dans les pays qui disposent de fortes réserves de matières premières, ce qui caractérise de nombreux pays du continent
