L’Ambassadrice des Etats Unis à Alger, Mme Elizabeth Moore Aubin, s’est félicitée samedi depuis Taghit (Bechar), des relations « fortes » et « importantes » unissant l’Algérie et les Etats Unis, affirmant « son engagement à œuvrer pour leur consolidation et approfondissement à travers le dialogue stratégique bilatéral ».
Intervenant en marge de sa visite au palais de Taghit dans le cadre de la résidence de création « One Beat Sahara », Mme Aubin a estimé que « le travail commun pour l’organisation et le succès de la manifestation +One Beat Sahara+ témoigne de la qualité des relations profondes unissant les deux pays », affirmant sa disponibilité « à œuvrer pour le raffermissement et la consolidation de ces relations auxquelles les Etats Unis accordent une grande importance (…) ».
Elle a ajouté que l’organisation de ce programme culturel diplomatique commun à Taghit dans le Sahara algérien « est la preuve que l’Algérie et le Sahara algérien en particulier représentent une destination touristique par excellence aussi bien pour les Algériens que pour les étrangers (…) ».
La diplomate américaine a estimé que sa visite à Taghit (W. Béchar) qui se veut sa première sortie après Alger depuis sa nomination il y a un mois, a été motivée par « la grande importance du sud algérien », arguant que « le sud algérien a été choisi pour l’organisation de cette manifestation de par sa
position géographique l’importance variété de genres musicaux qui le distingue, constituant l’origine de certaines musiques américaines, en sus de la beauté de cette partie de l’Algérie ».
Mme Aubin a exprimé « sa grande joie » de visiter Taghit qu’elle a qualifiée de « joyau et d’endroit féerique », saluant par la même occasion la coopération et les efforts consentis par les deux Gouvernements pour la réussite de ce programme « qui regroupe des musiciens représentant divers genres musicaux des Etats Unis, d’Algérie, et de pays africains voisins de l’Algérie dans cette manifestation exceptionnelle et unique en son genre ».
Cette manifestation, première du genre en Algérie et en Afrique, « est d’une importance extrême, en ce sens que plusieurs genres musicaux aux Etats Unis tirent leurs origines d’Afrique », a soutenu la diplomate pour qui « cette initiative traduit l’union à travers la musique comme étant un langage universel ».
Les festivités de « One Beat Sahara », organisée par l’ambassade des Etats unis à Alger en collaboration avec le ministère de la Culture et des Arts, prennent fin ce samedi avec un gala organisé non loin des gravures rupestres de la ville, animé par plusieurs musiciens algériens, américains et de différentes nationalités africaines.
Les artistes se rendront par la suite à Alger, où ils séjourneront pour une autre semaine, pour travailler en résidence au centre culturel Dar Abdellatif et enregistrer leurs œuvres finales, avec à la fin un dernier gala prévu le 11 mars à l’Opéra d’Alger.
L’objectif de cet événement artistique international est d’offrir une formation de haut niveau et créer une œuvre originale et authentique, mais également mettre en relief le patrimoine musical algéro-africo-américain, ou encore faire connaître les atouts touristiques que recèle Taghit et à travers cette région, toute l’Algérie.
